The Old Tryon Historical Collection is housed in the Old Tryon Room, located on the south side of the west wing, past the Periodicals Room. This collection is comprised of books, journals, and census and court records on microfilm, as well as a few other items pertaining to the history of the area once known as Tryon County (covering an area spanning the Piedmont and western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina). Many of the books are circulating; some are only for reference use in the library--these display the prefix "Ref" at the top of the spine label.
Materials on the many aspects of starting, expanding, or managing a small business is located in the Customized Training and Development Center, located on the lower floor of the Foundation building. Videos on a variety of small business topics can be viewed in-house, and books and videos can be borrowed from the center by anyone holding a valid library card from Isothermal Community College Library. Catalog entries for library materials available in the center are labeled "Small Business Ctr [Center]."
