Non-Print Resources: Historical Materials on Microfilm

Information about the library's non-print resources.

Library Collections

The purpose of our Library's collection is to provide appropriate resources designed to support and supplement the information needs of Isothermal Community College students as well as our REaCH students based on the requirements of their curriculum. 

We also have a few special collections. 

Access to Materials

Microfilm, stored in cabinets in the Old Tryon Room, is accessible by using the Library's Microfilm Reader/ Printer, located beside the microfilm cabinet. Images can be printed on an accompanying printer, or downloaded via flashdrive.

The Historical Records on Microfilm collection includes:

  • North Carolina Census records from 1790-1910
  • South Carolina Census records from 1840-1910
  • North Carolina Court records
  • South Carolina Court records
  • Newspapers of Rutherford County, NC, and western North Carolina
